"American History and Today" (part 1 opening)
"American History and Today" is a live, narrated 3-hour presentation of U.S history from the beginning of World War I in 1914 through present day. Presented in two 90-minute chapters, the show features a fair amount of pop culture, film history and memorable music to illustrate how Americans responded to tough times during the inevitable challenges to our democracy, including what is occurring today. Produced by John LeGear in suburban Chicago for colleges and universities. Earlier versions of this presentation have appeared at Illinois community colleges since 2017 under the headings "U.S. History and Today" and "American History at Hollywood Speed."
