Elvis at his youthful best: "King Creole" (1958)

"King Creole" was filmed in New Orleans early in 1958, just before Elvis Presley was called into the U.S. Army, where he served two years, most of it in peacetime Germany. This montage reflects Elvis's final "tough guy" days of the 1950s, an act he'll reprise later on in films like "Roustabout" (1964), where he brings a little 1960s swag to the party. Anyway, it's all Hollywood pizazz, and we know that when it comes to Elvis, it's all about the tunes. Hope you enjoy this...and check out the follow-up tribute: "Elvis Loves Dolores Hart." Cheers.
