10th of 10 reasons Elvis rocks: "Roustabout" medley with Joan Freeman

Most of us old enough to have seen Elvis Presley in "Roustabout" when it arrived in movie theaters in 1964 have this youthful, fun-loving image of "The King" seared into our minds. I found it interesting, recently, to discover that many people only 10 years younger--in their mid-50s today--tend to have an image of Elvis that reflects the second half of his 23-year career leading up to his untimely death in 1977. That said, this video completes "10 reasons Elvis rocks," a project I started in mid-July to inspire fresh ideas for a new film history presentation "Movie Music Elvis." Which is to say even more Elvis videos are sure to come, including "Dual Ballads for Shelley Fabares, which we'll publish here on YouTube October 8. Thanks, everyone, for looking in.
