Some arrivals and departures of the Lockheed U-2S Dragon Lady at RAF Fairford UK, in mid september 2022. These unique aircraft fly up to FL600 ! (60.000ft)
Minimum one U-2S is on temporarily deployment for local missions. The "local" aircraft, 80-1076, with dorsal Senior Span pod, is seen arriving and departing on local missions. 80-1066 was transiting Fairford: it came from Cyprus and continued two days later to its base, Beale AFB, California, home of the 9th Reconnaissance Wing.
The U2 has one of a kind operations: a chase car follows the a/c on the runway whilst landing and departing. The removable "pogo" wheels to support the wings is as well a unique feature.
