Wood Turning an End Grain Macadamia Lidded Box Snake Skin

Here I turn an end grain Macadamia lidded box. I have a nice piece of macadamia that had a split on the end so I decided to trim it off and use it for small turnings like this. Macadamia is a pretty hard wood but turns nicely and has wonder grain pattern.
I may use some of the smaller pieces of Macadamia to do a segmented turning of sorts. Not sure I would be able to use the wedgie sled I built for cutting segments though. I have a big enough piece to make a natural edge bowl but not sure I should turn so much of it into sawdust.
