Wood Turning Madrone natural edge bowl Walnut Repair

In this video I do my best to save a badly cracked and split piece of madrone. My choice was to trim off the split and glue on a piece of walnut.
I like how it turned out.But being retired I can MOSTLY choose what I want to do with my time.
Anyone else think it was worth the effort?
