How to get the Boss DD-500 to sound like the Maxon AD999

Getting the Maxon AD999 sound on a Boss DD-500 is easy. You will need a buffer type pedal though to brighten up the dry signal sound like the Maxon AD999 does. The Boss DD-500 does not replicate the unwanted white noise the Maxon AD999 produces which is nice.

The Maxon AD999 has two outputs. The one used in a non-stereo setup is labelled "output." The other is labelled "dry output." The "dry output" is indeed a dry output in that there is no buffering type effect coming from the "dry output." The "output" however buffers the dry signal which is why a buffer is needed to replicate it.

The Boss DD-500 has a variety tone shaping options to easily replicate the delay sounds of the AD999 even without a buffer. It would just mean the dry signal would not sound exactly like the AD999
