SM 57: If you only had ONE MIC (To record your ENTIRE BAND!)
The one mic to rule them ALL, SHURE SM57 - https://amzn.to/3nalABU
My MAIN Camera - https://amzn.to/3cT7ZKs
My Desk Lens for desk talking - https://amzn.to/3cNZDU4
The Drum set we used- https://amzn.to/3l398lg
The Shure SM57 is possibly the most widely known microphones in musical history. Getting its start all the way back with some of the first Shure engineers in 1937 under the Unidyne name. Its hard not to recognize the greatness this mic has captured in some of the records that changed music history. But its somehow easy to overlook this mic. Its just so common. We’ve seen it so many times. Its been around as far back as most of us can think.
Which begs the question.
Is the Shure SM 57 still relevant? Can it not only be relevant. But handle recording a band. All on its own?
Thats what Luke (drummer) and I look at in this video. We put the Shure SM57 through its paces recording drums, recording electric guitars, and even vocals.
