He discusses the type of voice, why you want to keep the lead vocal reflection-free in the recording process, unnatural EQ effect from comb filtering, minimising ambient reverb and which way to position the microphone in the room.

Marcel’s personal favourites are: Shure SM58, Neumann U87, Sony C37A (Frank Sinatra’s favourite!), Neumann U67 and the Schoeps Colette with MK4 capsule.
