‘Truly remarkable’: Increase in budget surplus praised
Rich Insight economist Chris Richardson describes the predicted increase in the budget surplus as “truly remarkable”.
“The current government has added $61 billion to spending, it has also raised taxes $27 billion,” Mr Richardson told Sky News Australia.
He said, “war and inflation” are driving a “stunning tax take”.
“Taxes rise faster under inflation than spending does.
“The marvellous news for the budget will calm down.”
