Due to the two step quick release design it is just about impossible to lose a socket unintentionally. The locking mechanism is easy to use with one hand; slide the plate back and push the button down - it has a good resistance feel but not so much to make it awkward or tiring to operate. The ratchet operation is silky smooth and with a 4° swing arc fine control is possible. The tether can be attached directly to the tool or, for larger pieces, connected via the wire rope loop which screws closed securely. I tried with all my might to force a socket on to the ratchet but did not succeed. I did the same to try and remove a socket with brute strength - unsuccessfully. The bright chrome finish makes this tool look good and it's easy to wipe down and clean.
