Pine Straw Redistribution the Easy Way

With a lot of pine trees bordering the lawns there is a lot of pine straw available to me but it’s in the wrong place. However, it swept up easily with the AllFit HD 50 inch, 26 cubic foot lawn sweeper. Mind you, a hopper full of pine needles is a lot heavier than a hopper full of deciduous tree leaves.

This time I got about five loads of pine straw from the lawns and redistributed it around the lawn border and another area without any plants or grasses. It will provide good mulch cover to keep weeds down and eventually rot down and add nutrients back into the soil.

The lawn sweeper is simple to attach to the Cub Cadet XT1 garden tractor and pulls along easily sweeping up pine needles and cones, dead grass, and small twigs. The modification to the hopper (screen door netting) prevents any collected material from leaving too soon and allows the hopper to be over packed somewhat.
