Mary, The Second Eve

Mary was a woman. She was not God or Divine but fully human. She was the descendent of Adam and Eve. But God chose her to be the mother of His only begotten Son, the Word of God, the second person of the blessed Trinity. And the Word became flesh. He is the New Adam. He was clothed with the flesh of His mother, the New Eve. He is fully Divine and fully human, fully God and fully man. She was the first to receive the Word of God before all else. Where as the first Eve was disobedient, the seond Eve was obedient. And Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, the third person of the blessed Trinity said, "Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled."

Mary carried her baby, her son, the True Isaac, who is the descendent of Isaac and Abraham, up to Mount Moriah. This is the same place where Abraham brought Isaac and offered him up. Centuries later the Jews built the Temple there. It was here that Mary brought Jesus to present Him to the Lord and dedicated Him to God because He was her first born. She was a faithful Jew and is the mother of Jesus and the Church which is the body of Christ.
