One of the more common causes for a P-0497 trouble code (Evap emissions low purge flow) is a faulty evap purge solenoid, which can stick open, fail to open completely, stick closed, or fail intermittently. Before laying out cash for a new solenoid it is wise to exclude a wiring problem, a kinked or clogged line, a faulty evap vent solenoid, a clogged canister, and various other issues.
