How does leak down testing work?

This is a brief discussion of how a leak down tester works, and how the principle is fundamentally similar to voltage drop testing in electronics. Leakdown testing is a procedure used to evaluate and repair an internal combustion engine with a cylinder that is shown to have poor compression.
