Gladius Mini Underwater ROV at the Edmonds Fishing Pier 4-2-19

The Gladius Mini underwater ROV is an amazing drone complete with 4k camera, LED lights, stabilization, depth lock control, +/-- 45 degree up/down attitude control, and a 100 meter depth/range. This video was shot at 4k, 30 fps, 60 Mbps at the Edmonds, Washington Public Fishing Pier in Puget Sound about 20 miles north of Seattle. We have named our Gladius Mini "Waliays", an acronym taken from the Beatles song, "We All Live In A Yellow Submarine" since the Gladius Mini is strikingly bright yellow in color.

The Edmonds Fishing Pier was opened to the public in 1979 and remains a fishing and recreational favorite today. At that time, bundling discarded car tires and placing them on the ocean floor seemed to be a perfect match for disposing of used tires and providing artificial reefs as sea life structure and habitat that would enhance fish populations. Millions of tires were placed on the sea floor in many places worldwide before the practice was deemed ecologically unfriendly and, in fact, tire reefs are currently being removed in many locations.

Waliays handily navigated the tire reefs in spite of the tidal current which can be very challenging for a novice operator attempting accurate control and smooth video capture. Hopefully, my skills will improve and choosing slack tide for filming will produce better results in future. Thanks for watching.
