In August 1943, a young U.S. Navy lieutenant named John F. Kennedy faced the fight of his life when his boat, PT-109, was cut in half by a Japanese destroyer in the Solomon Islands. What followed was one of the most incredible survival stories of World War II: a week of fire, starvation, shark-infested waters, and desperate swims through the Pacific.

This is the story of how Kennedy kept his men alive with sheer determination, how two Solomon Islanders carried his message carved into a coconut shell through enemy waters, and how the ordeal became the foundation of his political legend.

From the wreckage to the White House, this is the story of PT-109: heroism, myth, and survival against impossible odds.
