Leonard B. Keller – The Six Bunkers of Bong Son

On May 2, 1967, Sergeant Leonard B. Keller and Specialist Raymond R. Wright launched a two-man assault on a fortified enemy position near Bong Son, Vietnam. With bullets snapping past and explosions all around, Keller charged through open ground, clearing six enemy bunkers with grenades and rifle fire. His fearless advance broke the enemy defense and saved his pinned-down platoon. For his extraordinary heroism and complete disregard for his own safety, Leonard B. Keller received the Medal of Honor.
