Teach Your Dog to Listen When You Don't Have Treats

You always want to reward your dog for listening to your cues in some form. You wouldn't continue to go to work if you didn't get paid, right? Our dogs need to get paid, however, this doesn't always have to involve food being the reinforcer. More on that to come later...

In this video, I will talk about the first steps of teaching your dog to listen to you when you don't have any food on you at all. Getting the food physically away from you is where we need to start! If your dog can't listen when the food is sitting a couple feet away instead of on you, there is no way they will listen when the food isn't even in the picture.
