Italian meatballs (polpette con sugo) are a winner. Here we make them as a second course and you can use the sauce for a first course of pasta. See the video on how easy they are to make and how versatile they are. See our Italian meatball (polpette con sugo) recipe below

INGREDIENTS: (MEATBALLS)

500grams x beef mince
1 tablespoon x chopped parsley
2 x eggs
1/4 teaspoons x chopped garlic
2 teaspoons x salt
2 heaped tablespoons x grated parmigiano cheese
2 tablespoons x breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon x water

METHOD:

-combine all ingredients in a bowl
-mix thoroughly until composition has even colours throughout
-roll into 2-3 cm maximum diameter size balls
-in a fry pan place enough oil to braise meat balls
-once all the meatballs are seared well and browned place to side

INGREDIENTS: (SUGO)

500grams x tin tomatoes (either whole or crushed peices)
1/2 cup x water
1 tablespoon x extra virgin olive oil
1 teapsoon x salt
METHOD:

-in a casserole pot place oil and heat to moderate temperature
-add tomato, water and salt
-cook tomato for 3 - 5 minutes, frequently checking and stirring making certain that it does not tick to the base of the pot
-now add the polpette and reduce heat medium to low
-cook for approximately 30- 40 minutes or until meatballs are cook
