Boston University Baccalaureate Service Honoring the Class of 2020

During Alumni Weekend on Sunday, October 3, Boston University Class of 2020 graduates were joined by family and friends at the traditional Baccalaureate Service, held inside Marsh Chapel for the first time in two years. This service had been postponed by the COVID-19 pandemic from its originally scheduled May 2020 date. The Baccalaureate Service for the Class of 2021 was held outside on Alpert Mall in May, in deference to pandemic safety protocols.

Yolanda Kakabadse, former World Wildlife Fund International president gave the Baccalaureate address, discussing the pandemic's growing hunger crisis and how community members can offer solutions. “Each one of us can be part of the solution,” she exhorted. “We need to plan how much we need to buy that [we’re] going to use during the week, prune any excess, and urge friends, family, and coworkers to do the same."
