Motorist Maaika Cahill captured the moment wildlife educator Lockie Gilding picked up an enormous python from the middle of the road and safely placed it on the other side of the road, where there was thick scrub.

Lockie, who runs Australian Wildlife Encounters spotted the animal as it was making its way across the road and said it was lucky that he was passing at the right time, adding, “It would have been devastating to lose such an impressive animal.”
