Aussie fishermen facing $12,000 in fines after being caught in late-night act | #yahoonewsau

The Melbourne men were found with multiple buckets and even a backpack filled with live crabs.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the Victorian Fisheries Authority reported that “Just before midnight, Fisheries Officers on the Mornington Peninsula apprehended 3 men… with 467 red shore crabs.”

“That’s more than 5 times the daily limit of 30 crabs per person for the trio!”

Victorian Fisheries officers seized all of the crabs, which were still alive, and returned them to the water.
