A time filming ants

Learning about ants is easy - when, like me, you know nothing about them in the first place. I had never devoted much time to watching ants but a recent assignment from Laowa/Venus optics (testing their new 28-75mm T2.9 lens, and their 100mm F2.8 macro) was a great opportunity to spend a few days discovering the common ant genera we see every day but never notice: the tiny Lasius, the hardworking Messor, and the fearsome Camponotus.

Aunque la sequía de no ha permitido que aparezcan flores esta primavera, el suelo del bosque está atravesado por una larga columna de hormigas. Son las incansables Messor barbarus, estoicas recolectoras de granos. Apenas unos metros más allá, un hormiguero de otra especie muy diferente: las aguerridas Camponotus cruentatus, que patrullan el bosque en solitario.
Pequeños mundos que he podido conocer gracias a Laowa/Venus optics, que amablemente me encargaron para probar su fantástica nueva lente 28-75mm T2.9, y el macro 100mm F2.8.
