Sunrise with a goshawk

The goshawk juvenile is living its first winter in a remote valley in Soto de Viñuelas, Madrid. Tonight it has been -7ºC below: the young raptor has never felt such cold... but goshawks are strong and enduring - just like the loud, watchful flock of crows that follow his every move.

This quick edit is the first of many videos to come, thanks to the new professional photo-hides that WildwatchingSpain is running just a few minutes' drive from downtown Madrid - I am very grateful to be a part of this exciting project!

El joven azor está viviendo su primer invierno en una vaguada del Soto de Viñuelas, Madrid. Hace 7 grados bajo cero: seguramente nunca ha vivido tanto frío como esta noche... pero el azor es aguerrido y estoico - casi tanto como la bandada de cornejas que sigue cada uno de sus vuelos.
