S03E07 | Rakiura Track Great Walk Part Two // New Zealand Great Walks

The Rakiura Track is one of the ten Great Walks of New Zealand, and I'm currently on a mission to complete all of them! This track, located on the third largest and southernmost of New Zealand's three main islands, is an adventure through a pristine and prehistoric past, but is still a fantastic track for beginner multi-day and long distance hikers.

Join me as I hike the Rakiura Track Great Walk in an anticlockwise direction over 3 days from Lee Bay on the northern coastline of Stewart Island through to the Fern Gully Road end. In this episode I journey from the centre of the island on Day 2 of the Rakiura Track through to North Arm Hut, where I spend my afternoon swimming and watching white tailed deer before trying my hand at kiwi spotting! The following day I hike the final 4-5 hours back to Oban, enjoying the sights, sounds and mud along the way.
