Beginner Pull Up Program and Guide

A first pull-up is a major milestone in the world of fitness. It's a testament to upper body strength and can be incredibly self-empowering and motivating.

If you're on the mission to tackle your first pull-up, then fear not, we've built a 4-week beginner pull-up program to help you get your first rep!

BEGINNER PULL-UP PROGRAM KEY STATS

The goal of this program is to serve as supplemental work to add to your current training routine, or to work as a stand alone program. It's up to you to decide how to include the 4-weeks into your training!

If you decide to use this program as supplementary work, then include the work on days that you have energy to fully focus on achieving the sets, reps, and intensities.
— Frequency: 2-3x/Week

— Total Workout Time: 15-20 minutes (this can vary if you want to take longer rests)

— Total Exercises to Be Performed In Program: 5

— Program Goals: Achieve first pull-up
If there's a week within this program that is too tough and you find yourself missing reps, then repeat that week and push the program's timeline accordingly — don't feel stressed by a fictitious deadline.

When it comes to rest times in-between sets and movements, take the rest you need to achieve quality reps and sets!

This program is designed to be effective and simple in nature and includes five core exercises:

1. Dumbbell Row
2. Inverted Row
3. Pull-Up Holds/Pauses
4. Eccentric Pull-Ups
5. Band-Assisted Pull-Ups
