Who is Britain's new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak?

NEW BRITISH PM
Well, it's official. Rishi Sunak will be the UK's new Prime Minister! So, who is he? Say hello to the UK's new Prime Minister! Rishi Sunak. And I know what you're thinking, another one? Again? and I don't blame you. This is the third Prime Minister the UK has had in just 3 months but while it might feel like déjà vu, there's a lot that's different about Rishi Sunak. For starters the 42 year-old will be the youngest British PM in more than 200 years! Since a guy named Lord Liverpool in 1812. He's also the first Hindu and British Asian person to ever lead the country! Which many people around the world are super proud of. His rise to the top job was also a different one. He started in politics only 7 years ago and spent the past couple of years as Boris Johnson's chief financial minister. Then, a bit over a month ago, ended up running to replace him against Liz Truss who, well, you know what happened there. After Truss' short-lived stint as PM, Sunak was back in the race and after Boris and his only other rival Penny Mordaunt pulled out earlier this week, Sunak got the job. He's now got a bumpy road ahead of him, facing serious economic troubles in the UK including inflation and the rising cost of living, but he says he'll do everything he can as Prime Minister to help the people of Britain.

FLOODS UPDATE
There's still major flooding going on along rivers in northern Victoria and New South Wales. Large parts of Narrabri in north-western New South Wales have been evacuated today with around 140 flood warnings across the state. Victorian authorities reckon the Murray River has now peaked at Echuca, after a massive community effort to protect the town. But Major flooding is still expected to continue in Echuca for up to a week

DIWALI
About a billion people around the world are currently celebrating Diwali! The five day festival is one of the most important events in the Hindu calendar. You're looking at 1.5 million oil lamps burning on the banks of the Saryu River in India all in celebration of the Hindu festival Diwali. But what exactly is it? Diwali is one of the most important days in the Hindu calendar and marks the beginning of the Hindu new year but is also celebrated by Sikhs and Jains. It is all about the triumph of good over evil and this is represented through lights. In Australia, the Sydney Opera House is lit up for Diwali, that's one big light and the large Indian community here celebrate through local events, dancing, food and many other traditions.

PUMPKIN BOATS
Here in Belgium, these folks have taken to making boats out of pumpkins! Yep, it's a yearly competition, where competitors dress up and race their rafts across a pond. It started off as a way of using up pumpkins that were grown for competitions and this year, 65 teams took part! Now you might be wondering "what do they do with all the pumpkin flesh that gets carved out to make these boats?" Well, it gets taken away, and turned into soup! Apparently.

PARKOUR LIGHT SWITCHERS
Now, to France. And these Parkour athletes have been going around town under the cover of night to turn off lights outside of shops and business. Showing off their cool moves in the process! Paris is actually trying to cut down on its electricity usage, and heating, with the mayor announcing last month that lights in public buildings would be turned off at night. And this crowd of jumping athletes says, they're just doing their part!
