The Kids Surf in Bali :: and Grocery Shopping (on a Scooter)

Years ago, Mike's grandmother, "Fluffy," gave Mike a small picture to hang in his house wherever he was living. Well, we live in Bali, Indonesia now, so the picture graces the wall of the family's villa in Bali. Mike will share with you the story of why Fluffy gave him the picture.

How do you go grocery shopping without a car? In Bali, you do it on a scooter. We'll show you how to load up your scooter with your fresh fruit and canned goods. Remember to bring a helper and your own bags (no grocery stores in Bali have plastic bags).

Finally, we go surfing. Well, not all of us--just the children! Isaac and Zara were lukewarm to taking surfing lessons. Bella just plain didn't want to go. However, after the surfing session, everyone just gushed at how much fun surfing in Bali is!

We LIVE in Bali, Indonesia now. It's almost too hard to believe. Yet it's true. Already, we can tell you: Life in Bali is peaceful, highly social, safe, and completely invigorating.

As a family living an expat life, we have discovered that travel with kids helps them enjoy actively witnessing history in the world more than trying to absorb it from a book in a classroom.

We shot this week's footage on a GoPro, Fuji X-T20, and iPhone X. The family travel vlog was created and edited in iMovie and Canva. TubeBuddy was used for technical YouTube guidance.
