South America :: It's a Whole Continent of People, Places, and Pleasures
There's a whole CONTINENT south of North America. You may have heard of it: it's called South America.
Its history, landscape, and people are as brutal, beautiful, and meaningful as anyone's, yet how often do we from the North America go there for adventure? We did, and we loved it.
First, we went Brazil for six weeks to visit with family and celebrate Ren's grandma's 90th birthday. We spent time in Natal, Recife, Joao Pessoa, and Porto de Galinhas. Zara, our little star, danced, learned to ride a bike, and provided lots of drama.
Then, we went to Uruguay, where Mike visited some old friends from his LDS mission.
Next, we went to Buenos Aires, where we visited Recoleta Cemetery and wandered around the city. Wow, the city looks so European and is a delight to wander in, especially if you can find a good milanesa napolitana while you're lost.
After Buenos Aires (aka Fair Winds), we flew to Iguazu Falls (Foz do Iguacu). It's the largest waterfall system in the world, and my eyes were dazzled to take it all in. What power! They were huge.
Finally, we went to Asuncion, Paraguay to see another old friend from Mike's Uruguay mission days. In Paraguay, Mike had his last alfajor as we all said good-bye to southern South America.
As a globetrotting family, we have discovered that travel with kids helps them enjoy actively witnessing history in the world more than trying to absorb it from a book in a classroom.
We shot this week's footage on an iPhone X. The family travel vlog was created and edited in iMovie and Canva. TubeBuddy was used for technical YouTube guidance.
We'd love if you would join us, world family travelers, for our weekly travel vlog about our global family travel -- Subscribe.
