Rio de Janeiro :: A City for Dancing, Music, and Samba School

Renatha is pure Brazilian: She is passionate, animated, and loves warm weather, wide swaths of sand, swimsuits, and samba music. But she's never been to the iconic beaches and sites of Rio de Janeiro.

Finally, this is her (and our) chance to walk around Copacabana and Ipanema (where we also visit Fort Copacabana),

to climb Sugar Loaf Mountain and take in the sweeping vista of the entire city,

to ride up to the top of Corcovado Mountain atop which is perched Christ the Redeemer statue,

to ride bikes along the promenade of Ipanema beach where we stop to listen to a reggae artist perform against the backdrop of waves and a bright Ipanema sunset,

to attend a samba school and learn to play percussions with the locals (yes, Mike has no rhythm),

and for Renatha to shake her booty in such beautiful Brazilian fashion, at almost every step of the way.

You go Girl!

As a fulltime travel family, we have discovered that travel with kids helps them enjoy actively witnessing history in the world more than trying to absorb it from a book in a classroom.

We shot this week's footage on an iPhone X. The family travel vlog was created and edited in iMovie and Canva. TubeBuddy was used for technical YouTube guidance.

We'd love if you would join us, world family travelers, for our weekly travel vlog about our global family travel -- Subscribe.

Comment below -- let us know that we are making a family travel vlog that folks are actually watching :)
