Montevideo, Uruguay :: I Return after Being Away for 24 Years
Mike lived in Montevideo, Uruguay from September 1992 to September 1994, as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). They were the best, worst, hardest, more rewarding, and sucky two years of his life. He wouldn't have had it any other way. Those two years as a LDS missionary have given shape to him ever since.
After twenty-four years, he returns to see what Uruguay is like through middle-aged eyes. And he brings his family to see his old haunts, eat alfajores with him, see old friends, and walk through a street market in Montevideo.
Uruguay is tranquil, beautiful, and full of wonderful people. Uruguay is one of the best countries in the world.

As a full-time travel family, we have discovered that travel with kids helps them enjoy actively witnessing history in the world more than trying to absorb it from a book in a classroom.
We shot this week's footage on a GoPro. The family travel vlog was created and edited in iMovie and Canva. TubeBuddy was used for technical YouTube guidance.
We'd love if you would join us, world family travelers, for our weekly travel vlog about our global family travel -- Subscribe.
