Our Spanish Road Trip - Bilbao to Zaragoza, via Pamplona (Part 1)

From leaving the Brittany Ferries Terminal at Bilbao, we take you on a journey to the Historic Spanish City of Zaragoza.

From the less-than-picturesque route out of Bilbao's port, we head out on Spain's Autovias, paying the tolls at the start of this journey. As soon as we practically can, we head off the 'A' roads to pick up the 'N' roads to explore back roads Spain.

We cover our planning tips, navigational tips and a few mistakes along the way as we head to Pamplona.

Starting at Pamplona's Bullring, we take a look around, discovering its links with Ernest Hemingway, the festival of San Fermin, and the famous Running of the Bulls.

Our visit takes in the streets and plazas of Pamplona, and we walk the same streets as those undertaking the Camino de Santiago, or the way of Saint James, on their way to Santiago de Compostela. A look at the Pamplona cathedral is a must before we return to the car and continue our journey.

Again, we head across country, where we can, taking in back road Spain, before yielding to the Autovia to take us into Zaragoza, and the end of this part of our Spanish Road Trip.
