Cooking a Gourmet Meal While Winter Truck Camping | Dumplings & Brownies

We decided to cook a gourmet meal in the back of our truck in -23°C in winter. We decided to make vegetable dumplings from scratch, one of our favourite meals. For desert we made brownies, which ended up being some of the best brownies we have ever had. We ended up using our rice cooker for most of the cooking and a wok for the dumpling filling. The rice cooker has really come in handy, it cooked the brownies perfectly and steamed the dumplings to perfection! In the beginning of this video we decided to go out for a beautiful snowshoe. We had quite a lot of snow in the last 48 hours. We snowshoed in deep snow and it was quite cold as well with a wind chill of -27°C. Our dog loved the snow and did not want to go back. We first made the brownies which turned out to be a big mess. Cocoa powder and flour everywhere, and I just couldn't get the chocolate chip bag open. The batter ended up being very thick so we were kind of wondering if it would work out, but it did in the end! We then made our dumpling wrappers. We then cut our vegetables and started up our camp stove. We put our wok on the heat and cooked our dumpling filling. After that was the daunting task of filling pleating the dumplings. The pleating did not go very well, and Daniel's (mine) looked terrible. They steamed perfectly in the rice cooker! We have a steamer function which is amazing on our rice cooker. They were very delicious but we were still hungry after eating. All of that work made us even more hungry than before we started.
