Yoho National Park | Takakkaw Falls, Emerald Lake, Hiking to Waterfalls & Natural Bridge

Daniel and I went on a Canadian Rockies road trip! One of our stops was the incredible Yoho National Park! One of the main tourist sites is Takakkaw Falls, so we headed there to take a look at the incredible waterfall! Our next stop on our trip was to Emerald Lake, a gorgeous brilliant blue lake surrounded by mountains with a beautiful lakeside lodge! Canoes are available for rent to explore the lake further. While exploring the lakeside we were surrounded by wildflowers, lush greenery and little spots where we could sit and relax by the lakeside without many people nearby. The next day we woke up to a beautiful clear and sunny day so we decided to do one of the many hikes in the Yoho national park. We decided to go on the twin falls trail. This trail leads to 4 unique and incredible waterfalls. We went down the lush pathway walking alongside the river. We came across Angels staircase falls, Lace Point Falls, Laughing Falls, and finally Twin Falls. Twin Falls is an impressive double waterfall where the streams of water connect at the bottom. This waterfall is very picturesque! We were glad to stand by the mist created by the waterfall as it was a very warm day! We came across a teahouse nearby the falls but it wasn't open when we were there. We stopped for a quick lunch before heading back on the trail to head back down. We love doing hikes in areas that we travel to, it really gives you a sense of the landscape, and you get to experience things you wouldn't otherwise. We drove back down the Takakkaw Falls Road Switchbacks, these switchbacks really reminded us of the windy road in Norway, Trollstigen! On the drive back to where we were camping we came across a stop to a natural bridge. We decided to stop and check it out! The natural bridge was an incredible formation from along the Kicking Horse River. The bridge was once a waterfall, and will one day become a gorge. We hope you enjoyed our travel hiking vlog!
