Novonix Investor Webinar Clarifies Tesla Partnership Rumor

Yesterday Nonovix held an investor webinar in which it addressed the rumor about a possible battery partnership with electric car manufacturer Tesla.

Several days ago Torque News, based on Australian Small Caps reported about a possible Tesla Novonix Battery partnership ahead of Tesla's Battery Day. Novonix, which makes battery sales and research, addressed that question in yesterday's investor webinar (see the reference below).

At the 35 min. mark of yesterday's webinar, Dr Chris Burns, a Novonix Founder and a Former Senior Battery Research Engineer with TESLA, discussed Tesla after a submitted question. He said Tesla being vertically integrated and building their own cells, so they would fall in this list of companies that would be interested in working with our materials.

The Q&A regarding the Tesla part went like this.

And would there be a partnership directly with Tesla or is that through the agreements between Samsung Panasonic and Tesla?

Yeah, so we're focused on people who have a supply chain or who are going to be buyers are influencers of that supply chain.

So of course, these agreements with Samsung and Panasonic exist because they are existing battery manufacturers, they have established supply chains that they are looking to grow.

And of course, there's a lot of coverage around Tesla's expansion toward being vertically integrated and building their own cells. And so they would certainly fall into this list of companies that would be interested in working with her on our materials.
