Community in Sea Turtle Conservation: Perspectives from the Global South
How do principles of local ownership intersect with sea turtle conservation practice? Can indigenous knowledge and modern rationality collaborate to cultivate a pluralistic perspective on conservation? What does it mean to bridge the gap between mainstream conservation practice and decentralised resource management? To address these enquiries, the Olive Ridley Project is hosting a World Sea Turtle Day special online webinar on 17th June, where three sea turtle conservationists from Kenya, India and Philippines will take the stage and share their perspectives on locally powered participative sea turtle conservation.
