Has your handmade cosplay ever popped seams or gotten bubbly in weird places? Well, we have answers! In this tutorial, expert costume designer Jerica will teach us how to choose fabrics and materials for specific elements as well as the best methods for preparing and sewing those fabrics.

Jerica Hucke is a lifelong maker and creator and is now the Draper at the Joffrey Ballet. Her greatest strength is her ability to problem solve any outlandish costume request, which is why she calls herself a Garment Engineer. This is a skill she honed working in storefront theatre in Chicago as a costume designer/stitcher/manager for about a decade. You have probably seen her work on the backs of busses and trains as marketing for the Joffrey, and she hopes to debut a new cosplay at GenCon this summer.
