How to Adjust your Headlights Position Up, Down, Left, Right on Tesla Vehicle - Settings Tutorial

You can adjust the headlights of your Tesla up, down, left, and right through the touchscreen by entering ‘Adjust Headlights’ under Controls Service and using the steering wheel scroll buttons for precise horizontal and vertical positioning.

Preparation for Adjustment
Park on a flat, level surface facing a wall or garage door about 25 feet (7.6 meters) away to observe the beam pattern clearly

Ensure the vehicle is in PARK with the gearbox in the correct state, and the air suspension set to a medium or level position to maintain accurate ride height

Turn on the headlights and, if applicable, put the car into Headlight Adjustment Mode via the touchscreen menu: Controls Service Adjust Headlights

Selecting and Adjusting a Headlight
The touchscreen will allow you to select the left or right headlight individually. Cover the opposite headlight if performing precise calibration

Use the left steering wheel scroll wheel to adjust the selected headlight:
Scroll up or down to move the beam vertically.
Scroll left or right to adjust the beam horizontally

Tap the scroll wheel inwards to switch to the other headlight and repeat the process

Tips for Proper Alignment
Use small, incremental adjustments to avoid over- or under-shooting the optimal beam position

Visualize on a wall using tape markers for reference points corresponding to the desired headlight cutoff and edges, ensuring the left and right beams are consistent

The cutoff of the low beams should generally sit slightly below the height of the headlight center to prevent dazzling oncoming drivers

After adjustment, save your settings on the touchscreen to retain the configuration
