How to Make Phone Calls in TESLA Vehicle - Easy Tutorial

Making phone calls in a Tesla is straightforward: pair your phone via Bluetooth, then use voice commands, the touchscreen dialer, or the Tesla Phone App to place and receive calls hands-free.

Step 1 – Pair Your Phone via Bluetooth
Ensure your Tesla touchscreen and phone are powered on.
Enable Bluetooth on your phone and make it discoverable.

On the touchscreen, tap the Bluetooth icon (top of the screen) → Add New Device → Start Search.

Select your phone from the list. A pairing code appears on both your phone and touchscreen. Confirm the matching codes.

Allow Tesla access to your contacts and call history to enable hands-free calling

You can pair multiple phones, but only one will be actively used for Phone Key functionality at a time

Step 2 – Make a Call Using Voice Commands
Press the microphone button on the steering wheel or touchscreen to activate voice commands.

Say the name of the contact you want to call, e.g., “Call John.”
Wait for the car to confirm and initiate the call. This method is fully hands-free and safe for driving

Step 3 – Make a Call Using the Touchscreen
Tap the Phone icon on the main center screen.
You can now:

Use the dialer at the bottom to enter a phone number.
Tap any number in your Contacts, Calls, Favorites, or Calendar Apps to start a call

Adjust call volume by rolling the left scroll wheel up or down. Tilt left to mute/unmute, tilt right to end the call

Step 4 – Make a Call Using the Calendar App
Sync your phone’s calendar with Tesla Mobile App: Profile → Settings → Calendar Sync, then allow your phone to share calendar data with your Tesla.
Open the Calendar App on the touchscreen.

If a calendar event includes a phone number, tap the number to place the call, handy for meetings or conference calls
