Method 1: Using the Brake Pedal (Electronic Parking Brake)
Bring the car to a complete stop by pressing the brake pedal. Tesla vehicles are equipped with an electronic parking brake that automatically engages when you put the car in “Park.”

Shift into Park (P) on the gear selector stalk (Model 3) or center column button (Model Y).

Confirm the parking brake is engaged: Check the touchscreen dashboard for the “P” symbol in green, indicating the brakes are active. This engages regenerative braking plus the electronic parking system.
