Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7th May 1861 in Calcutta. His Father's name was Debendranath Tagore and Mother's name was Sarada Devi. He was mostly brought up by servants as his mother died when he was a child and his father was a very busy person. Rabindranath Tagore is first Indian to win Nobel Prize. He wrote National Song of India Jana Gana Mana and National Song of Bangladesh Amar Sonar Bangla. He is known for his excellence in literature. He wrote many poems and stories whose English translations were also very popular throughout the world. Rabindranath Tagore once met Albert Einstein and they discussed about religion and Science. Their discussion was also very famous. In 1915, Tagore was given title of Knighthood by British Government, which he gave back in 1919 after Jallianwalabagh incident.
