Ram Pump with Check Valve on the Drive Pipe ?

I was asked what happens when a check valve is placed on the drive pipe of a ram pump. I setup a 1/2" ram pump and find the pressure with normal operation. Then I install a swing valve on the drive pipe just to find out what happens!
