Labor slammed as ‘intellectually incapable’ of a counterargument following Voice defeat

Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton has slammed Labor leaders of being “intellectually incapable” for mounting a counterargument after they accused the No campaign of spreading misinformation.

“Why bother putting in the intellectual groundwork to formulate a counterargument when you can simply dismiss your opponents as purveyors of misinformation,” Mr Houghton said.

Mr Houghton said Australians saw through the nonsense from the Yes campaign who aggressively denied the public the right to debate.

“We were told it was misinformation to link treaty to the Voice, but as soon as it failed our leaders and Indigenous groups pushed for just that.

“Instead of providing a clear framework for what the Voice would be able to make submissions on, it left the issue open to interpretation.”
