How anyone could 'trust anything associated with Victorian police' is a wonder: Jones

Sky News host Alan Jones says he is uncertain as to how anyone can trust anything associated with the Victorian Police.

His comment comes after The Royal Commission into the ‘Lawyer X’ scandal has handed down its report recommending a special investigator to assess whether criminal charges may be brought against members of the police force involved in the scandal as well as Nicola Gobbo.

Ms Gobbo was revealed to be the person at the centre of the Lawyer X scandal for her role as a police informer whilst representing key players in Melbourne’s gangland war.

“We have a lawyer, Nicola Gobbo, being an informant to the Police who must surely have known that this would prejudice judicial outcomes,” Mr Jones said.

“A raft of current and former Senior Victorian police officers, including Simon Overland and Graham Ashton, both commissioners, broke the law.

“You have the Royal Commission Chair, Margaret McMurdo, yesterday saying that Victorian Police had corrupted the criminal justice system.

“What on earth can we trust, we’ve got (McMurdo Royal Commission into police behaviour), we’ve got the quarantining, we’ve got George Pell. What can we trust?"

Sky News host Peta Credlin said the Victorian Police could be trusted “very little”.

Ms Credlin said she was disturbed by the lack of integrity in the Justice System which was evident from the Coate Inquiry into Melbourne's bungled hotel quarantine program.
