Chicago's Grid System

In the beginning Chicago was built on a grid system. With the rapid expansion of the city by annexation of local townships it quickly became a mess. Edward Brennan was the mastermind behind organizing the grid system we know today. He campaigned for 35 years to improve our streets and his story is rarely mentioned.
