Matcha Cake

Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves, traditionally consumed in East Asia. The green tea plants used for matcha are shade-grown for three to four weeks before harvest.

Matcha Cake

Dry Ingredients:
1½ Cup | Flour
½ Cup | Matcha powder
1 ½ Cup | Sugar
¾ tsp | Baking soda
¾ tsp | Baking powder
¾ tsp | Salt

Wet Ingredients:
2 | Eggs
1/3 Cup | Oil
¾ Cup | Butter Milk
¾ Cup | Hot water
1 tsp | Vanilla

Method:
1. Pre heat the oven to 325F.
2. Grease and line four 6inch cake pans.
3. Sift Together all the dry ingredients.
4. Mix together the eggs, oil, buttermilk and vanilla.
5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
6. Now add the hot water to the mixture.
7. Divide the batter in pans.
8. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes.
9. Let cool in Pans.
10. Level the cakes.
11. Layer and frost with Matcha Icing.
