Ultrasound-Guided IV Placement

Ultrasound-guided line placement is an extremely common procedure I perform as a cardiothoracic anesthesiologist and intensivist. Whether it's a difficult arterial line in the OR, a dialysis catheter in the ICU, or a consult for a difficult peripheral IV placement, ultrasonography can greatly facilitate the cannulation process. In this video, I'll go over some tips and tricks using my Butterfly iQ portable ultrasound regarding ultrasound-guided IV placement. The same methodology can be applied to arterial cannulation too!
