Missing Wife Burn Pit Trial: Flock Cameras Trace Where the Car Went After She Disappeared | Pt 11

Her car never moved. His did. The cameras followed it into the Dells, watched it vanish after June 11, then caught it coming back two weeks later.

This is the Missing Wife Burn Pit Trial, the State of Wisconsin v. Zachariah Rasch in Dodge County. Crystal Rasch, 37, was an estranged wife who had filed for divorce. She disappeared in June 2024, and what was left of her was found in a burn pit, reduced to a few bones and a tooth. Zachariah Rasch, 44, her estranged husband, is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. With her body destroyed, there is no cause of death, no weapon, and no confession, so the state has to build an intentional killing out of circumstance alone.

Detective Sergeant Bradley Konkel spent his part of the investigation turning that circumstance into a map. He pulled license-plate-camera data on every vehicle in this family, collected DNA standards from Crystal's own bathroom, and reviewed the security cameras at the house where she lived with her mother. Put together, his testimony is the closest thing the jury has to a timeline of where Crystal, and the cars around her, actually were.

And the timeline ends in a place that matters. The cameras show the silver Mitsubishi disappear after June 11 and resurface on June 24, headed toward the family's land in Adams County, with Zach's mother's car trailing it, the same area the state ties to where Crystal was later found. Inside the house, a calendar she kept faithfully simply stops on June 9. None of this is a cause of death, and the defense will keep saying so, turning the cell-tower data into a question and the Milwaukee camera hits into proof she was only out hunting for a new lawyer. Watch the map the state builds, then watch the defense ask how much it really proves.

WATCH WITH JUSTICE

2:40 to 5:16 - Konkel explains the license-plate camera system and the first thing it shows. Crystal's own car barely moved all month, while her husband's vehicles did.
21:23 to 38:30 - The map through early June. The silver Mitsubishi keeps turning up around the Dells, sometimes with a front-seat passenger who resembles Crystal, though Konkel will not say for certain.
53:56 to 54:50 - A detail that cuts at an alibi. Zach worked second shift, but the cameras put his car out running errands during the hours he should have been at the plant.
1:30:32 to 1:38:12 - The heart of it. After vanishing from the cameras on June 11, the Mitsubishi reappears June 24, moving toward the family's Adams County land, with Zach's mother's car following right behind.
1:42:05 to 1:44:51 - The home camera at 730 Main Street. On June 8, Crystal walks down her own driveway with a bag. It is the last time her own camera ever sees her.
1:53:25 to 1:59:39 - Crystal's wall calendar, where she crossed off every passing day as it went by. The last day she ever crossed off is June 9.
2:03:22 to 2:09:41 - On cross, the defense turns the cameras into questions, placing those June 11 Milwaukee hits next to two law firms and pressing on how loose cell-tower location really is.
