Neon Tiger (Second Guitar) - The Killers - Day & Age

This is the second guitar(ist) part of the song, which was played by Ray Suen during the Day & Age tour of 2008-2009.

The guitar is tuned to Eb.

I've played over a recording that includes my cover of Dave's part.
Dave's guitar is usually the loudest in a live mix, so I've set the level of the second guitar slightly below that.

The parts played by Ray really add to the song and are almost a lead guitar part, whilst Dave plays most of the rhythm. Ray enters during the first chorus and during the second verse, repeats the riff played by Dave in the first verse, as Dave has switched to playing the palm muted section in the second verse.

The only chords Ray plays, are just prior to and during Dave guitar solo. Whilst I can't be sure, I think it's most likely that Ray is playing just a C shaped chord, either open, or barred as I have. The bass is sticking largely to C, but the keyboard/strings (which is the most prominent bit you can hear when all the instruments are at their respective levels), is playing a 4 note ascending chromatic riff that repeats twice.

Ray used a late 1960s red, single pickup, Gibson Melody Maker SG for his part.
I don't own one of those, so I used an original 1964 Gibson SG Special in Polaris White.

He also used a bit of delay, so I replicated that as well.
